Weather, wardrobe, and beauty bag item of the day.

Sometimes the weather here is so nice that I wonder "how long will this last?" it must be too good to be true that we all can go outside to play and I can work in my garden.  Well that lasted one day!  Today it's in the 30's and cloudy.  Thus my attire goes back to wool coats and gloves.
But on the brighter side, staying inside has many perks.  Today we baked sugar cookies, watched Garfield the movie and just hung out.  And when the cloudiness starts to bring me down, I reach for some fun nail polish colors to try.  It's always nice to see your nails in a fun summer hot pink color even if the weather is not nearly close to that season!
So the beauty bag item of the day is an eyeshadow primer called Too Faced Shadow Insurance in the color Candlelight.  With that as a base, I applied my NYX single eyeshadow in Lanika all over my lid.  This eyeshadow kind of looks like this sky blue color, fairly matte, with a bit of shimmer.  For some more wow power, I applied my Mac Eye Khol in the color Minted under my eyes, added some blush and lipgloss I was set for the day.  Now did I go anywhere?  Of course not.  I was home all day with the little one, who might I add likes to sit and watch mommy put on her makeup.  Maybe it's the bright light, I don't know, but it's precious.  Someday i'm sure she will be asking me to put some on her.
I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like for the rest of the week, but i'll be sure to leave my mittens and summer nail polishes close at hand!  Angela

Sunday funnies, easter bunnies, and beauty bag item of the day.

So every Sunday we all sit around the table in the morning, wait for our breakfast, which is made by my wonderful husband, and read the newspaper.  He gets the funnies of course.  But today he was away, and the funnies sat alone on the table, and our breakfast, well we had to settle for organic protein pancakes made by mom.  "Not like a Sunday with dad" they say.  Then it was off to play Easter egg hunt, which I had to break out the Easter box in the shed so they could get their "baskets" and fake eggs.  It was a joy to see them hide their eggs, then go find them, and then start the whole process all over again.  I of course took the liberty of watching from afar, worked on the laundry, and read the paper, and yes the funnies.
Now it's time for bed as we all need a good nights rest.  And like I said in my last blog, I tried out my deep conditioner by john masters organic, and my hair felt very soft and looked nice and shiny.  It actually got really curly since I didn't blow dry my hair, but that's besides the point.  But for tonight I think I will skip the shower, and soak in the bath with one of my favorite tub treats by LUSH cosmetics called Golden Slumbers Bath Bomb.  Hopefully that will put my into a deep slumber, but not in the tub of course.
Goodnight all, or Goodnight Moon as we like to read here, and i'll talk to you soon!  Angela

A playdate and beauty bag item of the day!

So my daughter had her first official "playdate" at her little friends house from school.  Did she have a great time? Yes, and she wants to go back again tomorrow (lets give it a week o.k).  I had a good time talking with the mom, and i know their dog enjoyed our youngest daughter's continuous petting and hugs.  Anyways, today may not be another "playdate" day, but we are going to try and have fun outside since the sun is shinning and daddy is home with us.
Like I said in my last blog, I have a variety of beauty samples to try.  The next product is actually going to be for my hair and is called john masters organic lavender and avocado intensive conditioner.  This conditioner is supposed to bring moisture and vitality to dry hair, and it's also great on color-treated hair.  We shall see.  And it's not one of those deep conditioners that you have to leave on your hair for like 20 minutes and wrap in a towel.  Like I have that kind of time!  1-5 minutes and then rinse well, now that's something to look forward to tonight!
Have a fabulous day and i'll chat with you all soon : )

Taxes, toys, and beauty bag item of the day.

Hi everyone!  Hope you all are enjoying your day.  Has anyone done their taxes yet?  Well I tried to get mine done last night, and to my lack of knowledge, found out that we won't be able to get a refund until after February 15th.
Here's why.  According to (http://www.accountingtoday.com), the start of the 2011 filing season will begin in January for the majority of taxpayers.  However, there were changes in the law meaning that the IRS will need to reprogram its processing systems for three provisions that were extended in the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010 that became law on Dec. 17.  People claiming any of these three items — involving the state and local sales tax deduction, higher education tuition and fees deduction and educator expenses deduction as well as those taxpayers who itemize deductions on Form 1040 Schedule A — will need to wait to file their tax returns until tax processing systems are ready, which the IRS estimates will be in mid- to late February (http://www.accountingtoday.com).  So there you have it.  If you are concerned check this web site out or you can always call your local tax preparer.  On the brighter side, I guess this will give me a chance to go through some of the girls toys, do they really need all those ponies?
For my beauty item of the day, I recently sampled a wrinkle cream (yes I said wrinkle cream) by Rexaline and it's amazing.  It replumps fine lines and wrinkles from within oh my.  It also makes your face feel so smooth, even my girls commented and said that mommy's  face was so soft.  They are too kind, and so very honest.  But prior to this awesome sample, I was, and will continue to use my  Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle cream night (a little less expensive but just as great, in my opinion) until it is empty.  So bye bye wrinkles, or future ones for that matter and I will talk with you all soon! Angela

My first blog, my thoughts for the day, and beauty bag items of the day.

Oh my gosh, my first blog.  Did anyone else get nervous the first time they started this process?  Anyways, hopefully it will get easier.  So my first thought for the day is this....when things seem to be overwhelming, I stop and go outside to get some fresh air, just to clear all the fuzzies (as I see them).  Then usually, when I get back to whatever I thought was so "overwhelming" it really wasn't after all! How do you all deal with life's uncertainties and frustrations?
O.k, my plan is that on every blog I will list one beauty item that I have and want to share with you all, or products that I want to purchase and my rationale for it.  I'm sure I can add some other items along the way too, and if you have any suggestions or requests for something, just comment below and i'll see what I can do!
So the first beauty item for today is the Coastal Scents 88 Color Makeup Palette. The colors are very pigmented and you can create a variety of looks with this palette.  If you go to the Coastal Scents website (www.coastalscents.com) they have other palettes for sale there as well.  But of course, you can find them on Amazon's website too : )  Oh, one more thing, the LUSH Cosmetics Dream Cream Body Cream I have to mention because during the colder months my skin gets so dry, especially my hands.  Well, this product is so smooth and creamy it makes my skin feel less dry and flaky and more like silk.  My hands and body thank me!
Well you all have a great day, and remember to go out and get ride of those fuzzies now and then, I know I will!
Talk soon, Angela
